About Ray Kellen
As a general contractor and cabinet maker for 32 years, Ray developed a keen knowledge of wood and how to bring out the best characteristics of each piece. His work was so popular that his reputation spread by word of mouth. Eventually, he branched out into the world of art.
After retirement, he began his love affair with turning. His favorite thing is to mix various exotic woods into one piece. Some of his finished pieces contain over 200 segments - all glued together and turned as if one solid piece of wood.
Ray has received numerous awards from upscale fine art shows in which he displays his work up and down the east coast.
